Kitchen Organization & Planner Set

For the first few years of having chickens, we never kept a rooster, but then along came Ric Flair and his frizzle self made me a rooster momma. He has fathered a ton of babies, some of my best frizzle hens included, but the time has come for him to call a new flock home so that we can hatch our own eggs again. You shouldn't hatch frizzle/frizzle eggs due to high chance of genetic skin issues, and we have too many hens with the frizzle genes now to safely hatch them and know for sure. Sooooo, a friend of ours is going to add him to their flock and hopefully hatch their future frizzle show bird for 4H. I'm excited for his new chapter. He's been a fantastic rooster for us and I'm sure he will continue for them. We have 2 roos we hatched last year and they will be tending our flock for now, and we may just keep one in the end, we will see. I'm proud of this plate...you know why? Everything on it was raised in our backyard homestead. Some days are easy, others are hard, but in the end, to be able to learn to humanely raise meat bird chickens and to plant and grow vegetables to preserve is such an amazing feeling.
