  • This is what local food looks like. ❤️

Every chicken is processed by us, cut up by hand, packaged, labeled, and frozen right here on our homestead.

It's a lot of work, but knowing exactly where our food comes from makes it worth it.

We still have a few packages available: • Leg quarters • Wings • Whole chickens • Soup birds

Send me a message if you'd like to reserve yours!

  • Those ripe bananas in the freezer finally had their moment. 🍌

I turned them into this Fresh Milled Banana Cake, and it turned out so soft, moist, and full of homemade flavor.
I always keep peeled bananas in the freezer because they're perfect for baking. No waste, and there's always a reason to make something delicious!

🥣 The full recipe is now on the blog. I'd love to know—are you team banana bread, or would you choose banana cake?

  • 🍅 One of my favorite summer time-savers!

Instead of spending hours making sauce during the hottest part of the summer, I simply wash, core, and cut up ripe tomatoes, then freeze them until I'm ready. When they thaw, much of the excess water drains away, which means less cooking time and a richer sauce.

And here's the best part—you don't have to grow your own tomatoes to preserve them! Supporting your local farmers is a wonderful way to fill your freezer and pantry while keeping your dollars in your community.

Know your farmers and support local businesses. Always wash your fresh produce no matter where it comes from.

Do you preserve tomatoes all at once, or a little at a time throughout the season? I'd love to hear your favorite method!

  • Did you know? Tomatoes picked at the "breaker" stage (just starting to change color) will continue to ripen indoors while reducing the chance of splitting, cracking, or being eaten by birds and squirrels.

Most of these will be for oven roasted pizza sauce! Yummy!

What kind of tomatoes are you growing this year.?
