Here I go again…

Hey, y’all!  I decided if I was going to get back to blogging again, I’d start fresh with a brand new site that I can use for more things than just blogging.  So bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of WordPress…it’s a bit of a change from Blogger, but I’ll figure it out as I go!  If you followed me before, bless your hearts for finding your way here. I was a bit of an on again, mostly off again blogger as life got busier and just didn’t make time for blogging. Well, I’m committing once again to giving it a go, so welcome! or welcome back!

So it’s September 1, 2017 and this year is FLYING by! So much has happened since I last blogged that I can’t catch it all up in one post, so I’ll give you the condensed version for today.

We just closed on my childhood home Wednesday and that was a super emotional day for my sister and I as our family has owned this house since 1979.  It was past time to sell it, but I had to get 30 plus years of stuff out of it and it seemed to take FOREVER! My sister and I posed one last time in front of the house before we headed to the closing, it was super weird for the house to be completely empty knowing we’d never be back as owners of 214 Valhalla Drive ever again.  Our parents bought this house when my sister was a baby and I was getting ready to start kindergarten to be closer to my dad’s real estate office.  They both passed away in 1996 and I continued to live there until 2013 when Randy I moved to Clover, SC closer to his work and family.  It’s a big adjustment for sure, but it’s a relief in many ways – financially, less stress and one less thing to take care of…we can all use a little of that, right?

I’m still working as a Nannie, now to 2 children, Caroline is almost 2 and quite the diva and Drake is 12 weeks old and cute as can be.

My days are filled with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and occasionally My friends Tigger and Pooh and LOTS of snuggles.  I’ve been a Nannie for 26 years and I wouldn’t trade the love of these kids and their families for anything in in the world! I have adopted the mantra that I’m changing the world….one diaper at a time.  These kids are a blessing and each one holds a special place in this Nannie’s heart!  When you’ve been around long enough the see the first babies getting married and having babies of their own it’s hard to wrap your head around sometimes, but I truly believe that God placed these families in my life at a time when I most needed them.

Randy and I have been on a quest to get healthier by cutting the carbs and being more active…it’s been a real learning process over the last year, but we’ve both managed to lose some weight, feel better and are committed to staying the course to reach our goals! I’ll post more on this as the days go by, but I’m super proud of my hubby and his hard work and I’m thankful for all of the support I’ve received from our family and friends along the way…they’ve been AMAZING!

If you’ve read this far…thank you!  I’m looking forward to posting some things near and dear to my heart next week…Hope to see you soon – Have a fabulous long weekend!

Blessings,

Stephanie
