Good Monday Morning Everyone!
I’m linking up for Inspire Me Monday at Simple Life of a Fire Wife today with a few things going on in my world lately! I took a few days off last week because I got some unexpected results from some bloodwork last week and spent a few days making appointments to follow up and blogging simply had to take a back seat.
So I’ve written already how I’ve lost 70ish pounds and am feeling great, so I had hoped that my physical and corresponding blood work would reflect positive results as well. I had my doctor appointment on Wednesday of last week and my blood pressure was good, so that was great, after having years of high pressure due to eating habits and being overweight. I did my blood work with high hopes only to get a call from my doctor saying my cholesterol was the highest he’d ever seen in one of his patients. Well, crap. not what I expected. He suspects it is familial hypercholesteroldemia (say what? yeah, that’s what I said too). Basically I have high cholesterol, the bad kind, that is passed down from my parents, most likely my dad who had multiple heart related issues in his life, as did his dad. My good cholesterol was decent but the bad (LDL) and therefore the total were unacceptably high. I had to schedule an appointment with a specialist who didn’t have an opening until November 28th. I mean, really???? And that’s just a consult. No blood work will be done at this appointment. So I took to Google…and that is never good. You start by searching for treatment for a hangnail and end up certain that you have Stage 4 inoperable hand cancer….so I spent a couple of days researching that, praying for peace and just soaking that in. I can’t do anything about it for now, so I’m continuing with my wellness plan and we started back to walking this morning to get my daily exercise routine going again, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it threw me for a loop.
I’m going to share a link from a couple Sundays ago at our church here in Lake Wylie. It was such a powerful message by our pastor Jesse Bowles….It’s relevant no matter where you are in your spritual walk.
Take a listen if you have time, save it for later if you don’t. I’m going to listen again, because it was that good, seriously.
I hope you guys have a great day!
Blessings,
Stephanie
